Question: Hello I have a 2 stroke 9.9 mercury I want more pick up at lower speeds. Essentially i just wish to get our 2.7m ocean cruising tender dinghy up on the plane with two adults in it. The standard prop is not great at getting us on the plane. Am i right in thinking a 9 ¼” x 7” would give us mote of a “hole shot” pick up? Due to being a short dinghy i am not too worried about top end speed. Any thought or recommendations is appreciated. Cheers Mike

Hi Mike,

There a 2 versions of this engine, one US made the other is made in Japan. each has a different propshaft spline.

Can you advise the engine serial number?
