Question: Hi, I’m just researching the best gear oil for my Mercruiser Alpha Gen 2 Sterndrive which I’m just about ready to service. Sierra seems to be the best Synthetic Gear Lube for this job. My question is that this packaging seems to be totally different to the normal Sierra 18-9650-2 lube that I have seen and I’d hate to use an inferior product. Could you please explain why the packaging is different? Thank you Regards Graeme Todd

Hey Todd, its the same gear oil, just Sierra went through a refresh of their packaging to make it more modern with consistent branding across the board. No change to the gear oil.
