Description:
HTRED-INLINE-50 Nautic Pro adhesive lined heat shrink butt splice for joining two cables in-line where a sealed connection is needed. Suits 0.5–1.5 mm² (approx. 22–16 AWG) cable.
The barrel is tinned copper with a brazed seam for low-resistance current flow and corrosion resistance. The outer polyolefin sleeve is lined with thermoplastic adhesive — once each wire is crimped into the barrel, a hot-air gun shrinks the sleeve tight to the cable while the adhesive melts and flows. As it cools, the joint seals against moisture, salt spray and fuel vapour and adds strain relief against vibration.
Colour code follows industry convention: red identifies the 0.5–1.5 mm² wire range. Always match the joiner colour to the wire size, not the insulation colour of the cable.
Typical uses include in-line repair of damaged cable, joining new accessory wiring into an existing run, lengthening trailer or outboard looms, and any join in an exposed or marine location where an unsealed connector would corrode.
To install, strip 5–6 mm of insulation on each cable, insert one wire into each end of the barrel so the conductors meet near the middle, crimp each side with a ratchet crimper on the red die, then heat evenly with a hot-air gun until the sleeve has fully shrunk and a small bead of adhesive appears at each end. Avoid an open flame.
Sold in packs of 50. Also available in a 25-piece pack.
