Description:
PP-8923146 CN GM Marine Heat Exchanger
This Seakamp Heat Exchanger is a marine-grade replacement designed for GM Marine industrial-derived marine engines.
This unit forms the core of the engine's closed-circuit cooling system, transferring heat from the engine's fresh-water coolant loop to the raw-water (seawater) circuit. Engine coolant flows through the internal tube bundle while seawater circulates around the outer shell, efficiently carrying heat away before the coolant is recirculated through the engine.
Effective coolant temperature control is critical for stable engine operation under load. A correctly functioning heat exchanger helps prevent overheating, protects cylinder heads, liners and gaskets, and supports consistent power output and long service life in demanding marine environments.
Manufactured to match OEM dimensions, port orientation and mounting geometry, the 8923146 CN is a true direct-fit replacement for the original GM Marine component. It installs without modification to existing hoses, brackets or pipework, making it suitable for planned maintenance, corrosion replacement or preventative servicing. The copper-nickel (CuNi) tube bundle gives superior resistance to seawater corrosion and electrolytic attack compared to standard copper, extending service life in tropical or high-chloride water.
